Daiwa NZ Marketing Manager Job Description

We are looking for a marketing manager to join our Fishing Team to elevate the Daiwa brand within the NZ fishing industry. 

You will have a passion for the: 

  • fishing and the outdoor industry
  • proven experience in marketing
  • be up to play with emerging trends and customer behaviour 

The role demands a large amount of responsibility, and the ability to problem solve from top to bottom. The role will suit someone who likes to take ownership of tasks and backs themselves to make a meaningful impact for the brands.

To be successful in this role, you will: 

  • at least 4 years marketing experience
  • be comfortable combining and coordinating a multi-channel approach for brand & product marketing
  • have a commercial understanding of social media and e-commerce
  • have a commercial understanding of PR, print media, and out of home
  • have a strong understanding of brand aesthetics in the NZ outdoor market
  • be highly organised and have a keen attention to detail
  • have excellent writing skills
  • work well with other teams, communicate clearly and build relationships

The role involves the following tasks: 

  • planning/creating compelling marketing campaigns 
  • executing, measuring and reporting marketing plans and budgets
  • working closely with brand ambassadors, retailers and other key stakeholders
  • Management of relationship with digital marketing agency 
  • ownership of all brand communications in market
  • executing DTC communications through EDM, web, and social 
  • running social media pages
  • owning product data, line lists and catalogues
  • owning content banks and local assets for the brands
  • development of advertising and marketing collateral
  • general support of the sales team and divisional manager
  • support wholesale partners with key sell in and sell through initiatives
  • reporting to global brand partners
  • sponsorship and influencer identification and management
  • event & expo management / activations 

Key skills 

  • sound understanding of different forms of marketing, including a solid grounding in digital tools like Facebook Business Manager, email (i.e. Klaviyo), Tiktok, and YouTube
  • Ability to work closely with our digital marketing agency to maximise the output for both brands 
  • strong fishing knowledge
  • excellent commercial writing skills in order to produce flawless EDMs, product descriptions, blog posts, and brand reports;
  • organisation, planning and coordination
  • exceptional attention to detail
