Land-based lure fishing - always searching for that untouched new ledge. 

Hard to beat a kingfish from the rocks. They always push your skills and gear to the limit. The sight of one smashing a topwater lure is hard to beat.

Angling Inspiration

My dad Pete - an old-school shore-based fisherman who taught me all of the basic skills. More recently, meeting new like-minded anglers from around NZ who share the same beliefs about fishing. Guys that are passionate about the fish that we target, giving them the utmost respect.

My Local (Favourite Fishing Spot)

Any remote ledge in the Hauraki Gulf.

Why I Fish

I love the challenge that fishing provides. You are never guaranteed success and there are so many failed attempts. I am constantly learning and searching for new ways to improve. Fishing has also given me a connection and understanding of the ocean and  that I never would have had otherwise.
